Garnished with the traditional spices and a lip-smacking flavour, the Indian vegetarian cuisine is truly a vegetarian’s delight. So, here is a quick read of the country’s famous vegetarian dishes.

1. Malai Kofta

Mutter Paneer can be proudly called a vegetarian’s butter chicken. It is one of the favourite North Indian dish made using mutter and paneer and has a base of tomato gravy. One can eat this lavish dish with Indian breads like chapatti, naan, paratha or roti.

4. Baingan Ka Bharta

Another vegetarian delight is Baingan Bharta, which is made from charred brinjals that are cooked in sautéed onions, tomatoes and chillies. Famous as the Indian Eggplant, Baigan ka Bharta is a simple dish, garnished with the local flavours. One can grab a bite with a chapatti, roti or rice.

5. Aloo Gobi

And the last dish from the vegetarian’s kitchen is Aloo Gobi, various versions of which can be found across the country. It is an amalgamation of potatoes with cauliflower cooked in some assorted Indian spices. Aloo Gobi forms an important part of a daily Indian vegetarian cuisine.
